Millstream River

Tree removal in buffer zone

Small brook

Millstream 19

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

Issue:

Camp within the 30 m buffer zone with an access trail cut to the river front. A small spring meets the Millstream river at this site. Small springs are really important for cooling down the temperature in bigger rivers and provide a good habitat for fish.

Action Required:

Don’t expose the spring to direct sunlight and try to keep it in the shade. Try not to remove any more vegetation in the riparian zone.
