Issue:
Private woodlot with forestry road that crosses the stream with three metal culverts (in bad shape). The bank around the culverts is eroded. Small gravel quarry on left bank (not in the buffer zone). Future mine site in the area.
Action Required:
A follow-up is required to monitor the effects of the new mine on the river. The stream banks around the culverts should be stabilized in order to reduce sedimentation in the river. It would be preferable to replace the culverts because they’re in a bad condition.

Update:
The site has been visited and the culverts are very rusty. The bank around the culverts is very eroded. Metal debris were removed from the water. The site should be revisited and vegetation should be planted to stabilize the banks.
