Wooden bridge on private road
Millstream 12
Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Issue:
Wooden bridge on forestry road used to access a private camping site (trailer). There is a big clearing with minimal vegetation and lots of gravel. There is only a small buffer zone at certain places
Action Required:
Monitor the stability of the bridge and the erosion on the road leading to the bridge. It is relatively simple to restore a buffer zone because all you need to do is let nature take its course. The first step consists of simply not cutting the strip beside the water. Before long, natural vegetation will reclaim its rights and benefit your property. Shortly after that, shrubs and trees will take root.
