Comeau Stream

Eroded bank

Waterfront property and pond

Downstream culvert

Comeau 14

Monday, July 27, 2009

Bridge on chemin Tremblay that passes over the brook. Houses on each side of the bridge. Both houses have access to the brook and lawn close to the edge of water. The property downstream from the bridge has two man-made ponds used for fishing (one on each side of the brook).

Action Required:

Assure the stability of the banks surrounding the culvert. The buffer zone around the stream should be respected. It is relatively simple to restore a buffer zone because all you need to do is let nature take its course. The first step consists of simply not cutting the strip beside the water. Before long, natural vegetation will reclaim its rights and benefit your property. Shortly after that, shrubs and trees will take root.
