Issue:

This is the end of Duguay brook before it ends in the Millstream river. The brook runs through a residential area. The flow is very slow and there is an abondance of algae present. The property on the left bank has cut grass up to the stream. The bank is stabilized with rocks. A dead end road stops close to the stream bank.

Action Required:

Follow up required to see if snow and salt from the winter road clearing goes into the stream. It is relatively simple to restore a buffer zone because all you need to do is let nature take its course. The first step consists of simply not cutting the strip beside the water. Before long, natural vegetation will reclaim its rights and benefit your property. Shortly after that, shrubs and trees will take root.
