Issue:

Well used forestry road that crosses the Belledune river. Bridge with abutments was built over an old bridge structure that is still present. The structure is close to collapsing in the river and would cause an obstruction to the water flow. Moderate erosion and some waste noted in area.

Action Required:

The stream banks should be stabilized in order to slow down erosion and reduce sedimentation in the river. Restore the buffer zone by planting shrubs or by letting nature take its course by leaving a strip of untouched vegetation along the shore. Clean up the debris and garbage that have accumulated in the watercourse. Repair or replace the bridge before it collapses.
